Do people actually make it to closing nowadays? I'm thinking that things have become too hard and impossible these days. With the high interest rates and high prices, I'm having second thoughts on applying for a loan right now. I don't make much so my chances of approval are pretty low. I can't even afford a crazy mortgage note. by denise592 from Sacramento, California. Mar 9th 2023
Though in today's loan environment the process to get pre-approved may seem daunting it is not if you work with the right mortgage professional. The buying power will be determined by your income and consumer debt. Prices have leveled off depending on the area. Rates have gone up of the last year. Main goal should be to attain home ownership now and at some point you can lower the rate when the market improves with a refinance. Feel free to contact me if you would like to discuss what your options are.
getting pre approved is free / easy and able to be done remotely .....if you want to know what you can qualify for - the pre approval process is what you want to do ...your loan officer should be able to assist with sugesstions to help improve the credit as well as the amount you can qualify for ......by doing this - you will have a definite baseline you can then work from and be aware - good luck....Dave Skow | Loan Officer Movement Mortgage NMLS 278613 Dave.skow@movement.com Mobile (206) 714-9745
Yes, we are closing plenty of loans these days. Home prices and mortgage interest rates being high make affordability harder for many people, but we are closing plenty of loans without any issues. The typical person can usually get a home loan about 4 times their yearly income. So if there are homes in your area that fit that number, go for it! You can always refinance in the future.
