Stopped working due to illness and just resumed recently, will this affect my mortgage application?

My wife has had 11 years of consistent employment with her employer. I, on the other hand, have worked 13 years in banking and had to stop for a year due to an illness. I recently got back to work and have been working for about 5 months now. Will this affect applying for a loan? Will a lender consider my income? by augusto381 from Dodge City, Kansas. It is likely that you will need to explain why you were not working for that period of time, but it should not affect your ability to qualify for a loan, and YES, the lender will (or at least they should) include your income.Bert Carpenter, The LoansA2z Team of NEXA Mortgage ~ NMLS 40586 ~ Certified Mortgage Advisor and Certified by The National Association of Mortgage Professionals as a Certified Veterans Lending Specialist.Licensed in AZ, CA, GA, IL, MO, OR & WA.
