Transferred mortgage
Has anyone had their mortgage transferred? I have no idea why this happened. I just got a notice the other day and it says that everything stays the same only thing changed is the servicing company. Do I need to verify with my current servicer? Shouldn't I get a notice from both? TIA by escobedo146 from Los Angeles, California. Nov 21st 2022

The transferring of your mortgage from one lender (servicer) to another is extremely common, and happens all the time. There are many reasons why this happens, and is nothing to be concerned about. You should get two letters when this happens. One from the current company saying you are being transferred, to whom, and when. The second letter should be a "welcome letter" from the new company, confirming the transfer, and giving you all the new companies contact information, account numbers, and how to set up automatic payments.
