We just sold our house recently and we want to buy a new retirement home. My husband is retired in the army with consistent income while I just got a new job. We both have poor credit but we have money to put down at least 20% for a $250k home. We’ve tried with the big banks but we weren’t successful. Our scores may be too low for lenders to work with us. What can we do? by ngedmond987 from Palm Beach Gardens, Florida. May 31st 2022
How low are your scores? Since your husband is retired Army, I assume you want to use a VA mortgage to buy your next home. Depending on what's going on with your credit, you may need to use some of your down payment to fix your credit.
