That's an unusual problem. They generally want your money! I would go online and arrange it that way. What company holds your mortgage?
Laws vary from state to state... but in most states, your security agreement (the "NOTE"), is sufficient... it defines your payment amount and schedule. The fact that they send out a monthly statement is a courtesy. I actually have a mortgage from a smaller servicer who does this regularly. I think they are hoping to be able to collect a late charge. But I beat them at their own game. In most (if not all) states, when you sign the note, you promise to pay on time. The note and the law don't require them to issue you a statement and coupon each month, and they cannot refuse your payment just because it doesn't have a coupon with it. That said, mailing a payment with a coupon helps the automated processing systems post your payment correctly and promptly. Since my payment is the same each month, I just made a photo copy of my last coupon before I mailed it and sent it in. Now I just use last month's statement to pay this month's payment. This is not a normal practice for a mortgage company. First, you should contact your mortgage company and make them aware of the situation. If this doesn't result the problem, there are some measures you can take on your path, such as paying your bill via online bill payment, using your existing bank account. Also if you have payment vouchers you could send out your payment instead of waiting on them to send a bill if you know your exact amount of mortgage payment.Paying your bill on line is free of cost to you.
