So I'm in the process of buying my first home currently 3 weeks past my original closing date so USDA is wanting rent verification but my landlord and I don't really have A agreement on rent it's 800 dollars but I pay whenever and he lets me not pay November til I get my taxes is this gonna hurt me or do I still have a shot is there a way around this by w_myers1985470 from Albion, Nebraska. The lender is going to call your landlord and ask if you have been 30 days or more late in the past 12 months. If the answer is yes, 1 time in November, then you should be ok.. if you have had more than one 30 day late payment in the past 12, then it could be a deal killer.. or if if you had a 30 day late in the last 90-120 days, that could also be a deal killer.. it really falls in your landlord's lap... and how he responds to the rent verification..
