Hello. I am currently working as a retail worker. I am also a volunteer union rep/shop steward and executive board member of the union. It is free work, but I am an elected officer and have the same legal rights and responsibilities as a union rep who gets paid. If I were to get a full time job at the hall, technically switching career fields to a full time union rep, would I be able to use my volunteer time as employment history for a mortgage? by conschneidt721 from , California. Assuming you are an hourly or salary employee, you only need to document a two-year minimum work history in your entire life. If there is a large gap between paid positions, that simply needs to be explained. I lend in MN, CO, FL, IA, ND, SD. Find me at JoeMetzler.com | NMLS 274132 |
