Waiting for a statement from my lender after paying mortgage interest

Hi, I think I already know the answer to my question but I still want to hear the opinion of others. Me and my husband are filing our taxes and they’re a little more complex than normal. We filed our taxes separately in the previous year but since then, we got married, sold our house, bought a new property, etc.. My question is, I sold my house in April 2021, I paid mortgage interest on it from January 2021 to May 2021. Shouldn’t I have gotten a statement from my lender during those 5 months? I think they should’ve contacted me already but I just wanted to make sure just in case I’m wrong. by pplinux75 from Atlanta, Georgia. Jul 1st 2022 Reply

They probably sent it but you didn't get it due to your changed address. They should be able to produce a duplicate for you. Reach out to them first. You can add up the interest that posted on your statements, plus the interest that was paid in the escrow to get the same number. ~ Bert Carpenter, The LoansA2z Team of NEXA Mortgage ~ NMLS 40586 ~ Certified Mortgage Advisor and Certified by The National Association of Mortgage Professionals as a Certified Veterans Lending Specialist.NEXA is licensed in all states except MA and NY so give us a call. ~ www.ApplyYes.com 480-889-9000 - OR - 480-695-9300.
