I assume you are wondering the waiting period after a major credit event?? For USDA loans, the waiting periods are: 3-years for a foreclosure, deed-in-lieu, or short-sale. or a chapter 7-bankruptcy. 1-year for a chapter 13 bankruptcy. All of these MAY BE SHORTER IF the event was caused by acceptable extenuating circumstances * AND borrower has since exhibited a documented ability to manage financial affairs in a responsible manner. It is VERY RARE for anyone to get the exception... so figure you will need the standard waiting period. I have a full chart of waiting periods at http://joemetzler.com/waiting-period-after-foreclosure-short-sale-or-bankruptcy.htm
