There isn't any charge to you when lenders transfer loans from one lender to another. Nationstar is a big and well know mortgage lender. . As the description is "Lender paid expenses", It doesn't sound related to the move itself, rather something else. I would call their 800 number and get a detailed explanation

It is against the law for the new servicing lender to charge a fee for this transfer. Probably what they are charging you for is a shortage of your escrow account. Most mortgages have an escrow account you pay into monthly as part of your mortgage payment. These fees go into a savings account and are used to pay your property tax and insurance as they come due. All lenders over impound anywhere from one to three months so that in case your premiums increase they have enough money in your escrow account to pay the overage. So if your new servicing agent requires three months worth of impounds and your old servicing agent only required two then that could be the difference as to why they are charging you an extra $105.00. Another thing it could be is if on your previous servicer you had any unpaid late charges they could be trying to collect those fees. The best way to find out for sure would be to call them and ask them what the $105.00 is for. I hope this helps. I'm a Broker here in Scottsdale AZ and I only lend in Arizona. No, it is not legal if the charge is for the transfer. If you had a late payment charge that needs to be cleared up, they may have the right just like your previous lender would have had, to insist that the late charge is paid. Best of luck in resolving this issue.John DesmondENG Lending888-407-1592

Just call them and ask about the charge and what was it for. Make your determination then. Good Luck

Call your lender and tell them you want a detailed explanation as to exactly what expense they paid. There can be some expenses that they can legitimately pass on to you, but they must provide details. Once they tell you what it is, let me know and I'll be happy to guide you. ~ Bert Carpenter, The LoansA2z team of NOVA Home Loans ~ NMLS 40586 ~ www.LoansA2z.com 888-889-9950

I have a similar issue. However, my Lender Paid Expenses are $2,800. When I inquired about the fees, the customer service rep. told me not to worry about the fee and pay them down if possible, but told me that those fees were not going away. We have been researching the net to find anyone else dealing with the Aurora/NationStar transfer. I am writing to my State Attorney General's Office.
