My wife and I are planning on buying our first house and we were wondering if anybody has any suggestions on the best bank to go through using a VA loan. Our credit isnt bad but it isnt great either, in the high 600s. by clguster from , . Jul 19th 2011
You didn't post what state you are in.
Whether you choose a retail bank or mortgage banker, VA only guarantee the home loans. Make sure to work with a qualified mortgage professional that has actually originated more than one VA guaranteed home loan as it can and will save you money and headaches. Make sure to have your DD-214 and your COE for whomever you work with on your home purchase. If you are buying a home in Illinois or Indiana, be free to contact me direct. 219-662-0166
Most VA lenders require a 620 credit score and you can have no bankrupcties or foreclosures in the last two years .You must not owe the Federal Government any money either...i.e back taxes, student loans, defaulted VA loans etc.IF you are looking in Kentucky, I can help you out. thanksJoel
