There are a number of reasons that he would not want you included on the loan. If you do not have any income, credit history or potentially poor credit it may be possible to obtain a loan with more favorable terms by nt including you on the loan. In many States you can still be on Title to the Property without being on the loan.

This may be a question to ask your husband, but there are plenty of legitimate lending reasons why it would make sense to have only one person on a loan rather than two, even if they are married. The lowest credit score of all borrowers is used for qualifying purposes, so if you credit is lower than his and your income is not required, it may be of benefit to only have your husband on the loan. You can certainly still be on title, even though you are not on the loan.

Great question. Ask him. Only he can answer that question. There may be a great valid reason... There may be a misunderstanding. Get his answer, then come back and tell us...

You might want to ask him that, but in general, it's probably not a bad thing.. as a married couple, you would have a vested interest in the home without the obligation for the mortgage payment.. but why he wants to do it that way is a question only he can answer.. I'm a Broker here in Scottsdale AZ and I only lend in Arizona. If you or someone you know is looking for financing options, feel free to contact me or pass along my information. William J.
