This is the eighth installment in an ongoing series on mortgage basics. On my mortgage website, I cover a host of topics on my frequently asked questions page. Since this is the most popular page on my site, I thought it might be a nice way to begin my blog. You can find the entire list of FAQs here: Arizona Mortgage Pro FAQs. I will continue this series covering one topic per post.
The most common complaint about loan officers, and people in the mortgage industry in general, is that borrowers are unable to reach them or find out the status of their loan. This really surprises me. As you can probably already tell from my website, I am easily accessible and I believe in proactively updating my borrowers on the loan process. Each step of the way, you will know what is happening with your loan and what, if anything, we are waiting for. The good news is that when you work with me, the whole process should happen very quickly, so you likely won't even have time to wonder what your loan status is.
The other complaint about loan officers that I hear pretty regularly is that the rate and fees were not as promised on the closing documents. I believe this is a despicable practice and no way to build a business or career. After you are locked, the only way your rates or fees will change when you work with me is if something materially changes on the loan (for example, you decide to put more or less down or the home appraises higher or lower than expected).
Experience the loan process done the right way and I believe you'll never look elsewhere for a loan officer again.
Thanks for reading my blog!
