It's an annual tradition: The holiday card. For some people, this is the only time of year they look forward to a trip to the mailbox. But this year, when you're making your Christmas Card list, consider sending a card or two dozen to the thousands of men and women serving in the military who will spend the holidays away from their families.
How? We're glad you asked. Cards4Heroes is a company dedicated to helping Americans thank the hardworking troops and veterans, as well as their military families, for the sacrifices they make day-in and day-out.
Cards4Heroes offers a wide selection of greeting cards, notecards, stationary products and more designed with patriotic themes. They have a card for even branch of service - Marines, Army, Air Force, Navy, Coast Guard and National Guard.
"In addition to our wide selection of products, (we now have about 2,000 to choose from), we also strive to provide superior customer service. Whether you are ordering online, by phone or fax, or even by mail, we will work hard to ensure a smooth transaction and speedy order fulfillment," the organization's website says.
The cards are typically mailed within 24 hours of ordering - personalized orders may take longer.
Cards4Heroes - A brief history
Cards4Heroes founder Donna Nakagiri says she started the company with her husband shortly after 9/11.
"... My husband and I supported troops by sending them care packages, greeting cards, and letters. In fact, in less than a year, we had sent hundreds of cards, scores of packages, and countless letters and emails," she says on the organization's website. "But, I could never find patriotic greeting cards at local stores, much less greeting cards with military themes."
Nakagiri realized if she couldn't find the proper cards, other people couldn't either, and Cards4Heroes was born.
"That's when I embarked on this adventure of starting a company that would design the kinds of cards I could never find but wanted to send to the men and women serving our Country, veterans, and their families," she says.
