There is nothing worse than losing your name when you meet someone. Custom name tags are a great idea. These tags help to associate your name with the person you are addressing, which is proven to be a great way for you to keep track of who you are.
It can be difficult to get to know more than one person, and even harder to remember their names and work places. Statistics show that around 85 percent of people forget your name in 3 minutes after being introduced to you, unless you have a visual aid.
These are great investments because most people won't be able to remember your information after you parte ways. You rely on your contacts to make you successful if you're in business. This is a way to get your name out there in their minds and gain the recognition that will help you in the long-term.
This type of branding is becoming more popular in companies. It is possible to identify your employees and get their names out there. This is a great help when you're out in public and meeting large numbers of people.
This form of advertising has a great benefit: it's tasteful. They look much more professional than standard peel and stick ads by being printed on a plate or mold. It will also be easier to see the handwriting of your recipients than if they are filling out the on label.
A custom name tag can also have your company logo on it. You can choose from a variety of designs or create your own. Your label can be either one of the many available or unique. Online ordering allows you to see the product in its entirety and make a purchase with confidence.
Networking Name Tags and Ice Breakers
I have some great advice for you if you attend networking events sponsored by your Chamber of Commerce, or any other industry group. Perhaps after a conference, trade show, or ongoing training requirement, I suggest you think about iron on name tags for clothing. These are the ones that you forget to put on and then someone else says "HI, and your Name!" You look at them and wonder if you know who they are. Yes, those name tags.
There are many cool things you could do with your nametag. One that worked well for me was to write "A New Friend". That would allow people to laugh at me and invite me to their home. This would then be followed by some chit chat and lead to meaningful communication.
Singles can write "Available", which would make everyone laugh. The guys would then say, "Well, hell that ought not to work to get a date." And the ladies would reply, "OH, you're, aren't you?" Or "So, how are you doing?". Either way, if you have fun with your name tags and enjoy these events, you will instantly make friends and get the edge. All this is 2006.
