Lenders Willing to Lend, but Borrowers Still Gripped by Market Uncertainty

We've all heard that's it's harder than ever to get a loan these days.  But many lenders are actually more than willing to originate loans, provided borrowers are willing to trust them and provide all necessary documentation and paperwork.

Douglas Benner, a senior loan officer with Embrace Home Loans in Rockville, says, "People need to realize that they will need to jump through a lot of hoops to get a loan now, especially compared to five years ago, when all you needed was a heartbeat to qualify."  Lending standards and requirements are tighter than ever, but this doesn't mean there are no loans.  Most lenders are ready to get to work.
